Bakersfield PD received notification of the incident which took place right around 9:30 p.m. near F Street.
A woman riding a bicycle was struck as she crossed Golden State Avenue also referred to some as Highway 204.
Kern Golden Empire wrote that the woman, 32-year-old Angela Holder, was taken to a trauma center and was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene but was later located and identified as John Giumarra. He was arrested and faces charges.
