
Major Injury Collision at Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street
Bakersfield, CA (May 15, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a bicycle accident that occurred in the area of Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street.
Vehicle Hits Cyclist in Bakersfield
On May 14, Sunday, a vehicle struck a person either riding or walking a bicycle near the intersection in Bakersfield. CHP logged the case around 7:26 p.m.
Our sources indicated the collision left a bicycle parking signage down on the ground.
Shortly after the incident, emergency crews arrived at the crash site. Responding paramedics found the cyclist suffering in major injuries. Medical personnel immediately rendered aid to the victim. At this time, it remained unclear whether the injured person was transferred to the hospital or released at the scene. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Several factors surrounding the collision have not been revealed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the accident happened at Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street in Bakersfield.
