Bicyclist Struck by Car at California Avenue and R Street
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2021) – A Bakersfield bicycle accident happened Tuesday afternoon on California Avenue and R Street.
The collision happened about 12:29 p.m. on Jan. 4th at the Bakersfield intersection, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Also, it’s unknown what led up to the collision that left the bicyclist suffering from major injuries.
Bakersfield Bicycle Accident
The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the bicycle accident and is asking motorists to avoid the area.
A report by KGET News mentioned there was a body covered in the roadway, possibly indicating this is a fatal collision. However, police have not yet confirmed that information at this time.
Also, authorities closed down the eastbound lanes on California Avenue for several hours to investigate. Witnesses may contact Bakersfield police.
Finally, motorists should avoid the area between R and P Streets.
