Bakersfield, CA (April 22, 2023) – One person suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Airport Drive, the KGET News reported.

Truck Hits Bicyclist in Bakersfield

On April 20, Thursday, our sources reported a group of bicyclist was traveling in one of the southbound lanes on Airport Drive. Officials said a white truck was driving in the same lane.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the truck switched lanes to pass the bicyclists. When the truck driver attempted to merge back over, he thought he passed the group but accidentally hit at least one cyclist.

When medical personnel arrived, they immediately checked the conditions of the injured bike rider. The article published online mentioned paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the traffic collision that happened on Airport Drive in Bakersfield.
