Bicycle Rider Injured in Bakersfield Car Accident
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Dec. 17, 2019) — A bicyclist was injured Tuesday afternoon in a hit-and-run collision at Beardsley and Chester avenues in Bakersfield.
The collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:41 p.m. Two vehicles pulled over and stopped, but the driver who struck the woman may have fled the scene, police said in the report. The woman was riding a bicycle with a dog in the basket at the time of the collision.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured woman who was suffering from a leg injury. It’s unknown at this time if she was taken to the hospital or not.
The crash remains under investigation by police to determine fault. They are also looking for the suspect who left the scene.
