BAKERSFIELD, California (February 5, 2017) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in an alleged hit-and-run crash near Decatur Street and Oildale Drive late Saturday night, according to Kern Golden Empire.
The accident took place just before 10 p.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 22-year-old woman was riding her bicycle when she was struck by an unknown vehicle.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries described by officials as major. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render assistance and fled the scene.
Authorities are gathering more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run motorist.
