BAKERSFIELD, California (October 15, 2016) – According to an article by Bakersfield Now, one person died while Cristobal Montes and Jessica Nino sustained injuries as a result of a wrong-way crash on Highway 58 near Union Avenue.
On October 14, a vehicle driven by a suspect of a robbery case from earlier this week was being chased until it drove through opposite bound traffic. The wrong-way vehicle then crashed against a second car and caused fatality, and injuries.
Officers affirmed the wrong-way driver suffered deadly trauma and was killed at the scene.
Further, the deceased’s passenger, 51-year-old Montes, sustained injuries along with the second car’s driver 21-year-old Nino. Nino was mentioned to have been transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Investigators continue to gather more information on the fatal crash.
