Minor-Injury Crash Snarls Traffic on Southbound Highway 99

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 30, 2025) — A three-vehicle car accident caused delays on southbound Highway 99 near the White Lane off ramp Monday morning in Bakersfield.

The collision, around 8:10 a.m. on June 30th, resulted in minor injuries and traffic backups.

The drivers of a white BMW SUV, a black sedan, and a gray Ford Fusion were involved, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Initial reports indicated the female driver of the black sedan was temporarily trapped inside the vehicle, but injuries were later confirmed to be minor.

Fire crews and medical responders were dispatched to the scene. The crash was initially classified as a major-injury collision but was later downgraded to a minor-injury incident.

Fleet Services was called to tow a BMW with moderate rear-end damage, and the vehicles were cleared from the roadway shortly afterward. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

CHP and Kern County Sheriff’s Office units responded, and no significant delays remained by mid-morning.
