1 Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 99 Wednesday
Bakersfield, CA (September 15, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a car accident that occurred on State Route Highway 99 at Houghton Road Wednesday afternoon.
Our sources indicated a solo-vehicle crashed for an unknown reason in the northbound side of the freeway in Bakersfield. According to the CHP dispatch, a black Toyota 4Runner rolled over and hit the center divider near Houghton Road.
Authorities mentioned the Toyota overturned and landed back on its wheels.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the crash site. Responding paramedics attended to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, officials confirmed at least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. Earlier reports confirmed an ambulance transported the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear at this time. Given that, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car accident on State Route Highway 99 at Houghton Road.
