1 Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Head-On Crash at Highway 119 and Old River
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 7, 2020) – At least one was seriously injured after a traffic collision at Highway 119 and Old River Road on Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol officers received a call about the accident on Labor Day at around 4:25 a.m. The area where the wreck occurred is also known as Taft Highway.
According to their report log, a gray Honda and another vehicle collided head-on for an unknown reason at the intersection of Highway 119 and Old River Road.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rescued one person found bleeding and pinned inside the wreckage as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel then transported the patient to the hospital with major injuries. The name and condition of the wounded party at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that drivers in the area were seen speeding when the incident happened. Officers temporarily blocked the roadway following the collision.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
