3 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 65 Near Jackson Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 7, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 65 Near Jackson Avenue in Bakersfield,
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 8:45 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said the two vehicles collided head-on on Highway 65, north of Bakersfield. For an unknown reason, they crashed just north of Jackson Avenue.
A CHP dispatch described the cars as a Volkswagen Jetta and a silver sedan. Both of them obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated the trapped occupants from the wreckage. A total of three people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Two patients sustained major injuries following the incident. Medical personnel then took the victims to hospitals for treatment.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced both lanes of Highway 65 to shut down near Jackson after the wreck.
The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
