2 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 at Houghton Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 28, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 99 and Houghton Road in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Tuesday. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:24 a.m.
CHP said multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Bakersfield. They crashed on northbound Highway 99 at the Houghton Road off-ramp.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
CHP said one of the cars involved, a dark colored sedan, rolled onto its side upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found two people who complained of pain as a result of the collision. They then took the patients to the Kern Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The report did not disclose names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound Highway 99 at Houghton to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
