1 Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Wings Way and Merle Haggard Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 31, 2021) – A car crash injured at least one person at Wings Way and Merle Haggard Drive in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:22 a.m. near the Meadows Field Airport.
According to their incident log, two vehicles collided in Bakersfield. They crashed at the intersection of Wings Way and Merle Haggard Drive.

CHP said one of the drivers involved ran a red light and slammed into the other car. The report described the two vehicles as a white pickup truck and a red colored Acura.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found one individual who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon provided treatment to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the intersection of Wings Way and Merle Haggard to shut down following the crash. Authorities are still investigating the Bakersfield collision.
