Semi-Truck Overturns on Highway 99 in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Nov. 10, 2021) — A Bakersfield crash on Highway 99 Wednesday morning resulted in a semi-truck overturning just south of State Route 166.
It’s unknown at this time how many vehicles collided or what led up to the Bakersfield collision.
However, traffic backed up on the southbound side of Highway 99, just south of State Route 166 due to the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Tanker Truck Overturned on State Route 99
Police closed down all traffic lanes after the overturned tanker truck carrying fuel blocked the roadway. They diverted motorists off the highway at SR-166 to the Interstate 5 Freeway.
CHP officials reported there were major injuries due to the Bakersfield crash on Highway 99. Paramedics responded to transport at least one person to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the truck crash is ongoing.
