Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle at Edison Highway and Mount Vernon Avenue Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (July 11, 2021) – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Edison Highway and Mount Vernon Avenue early Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle struck an individual at the Bakersfield intersection. The make and model of the car involved in the unfortunate event have not been revealed thus far.

Primary reports indicated emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 12:40 a.m. First responders found the pedestrian lifeless on the ground. Despite life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to withhold details on the driver involved in the catastrophic incident. Investigators continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident at Edison Highway and Mount Vernon Avenue.
