Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle on 4th Street Monday
Bakersfield, CA (July 5, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on 4th Street in Central Bakersfield.
The KGET published an article online indicating a vehicle struck an individual in the 600 block of 4th Street. Primary reports indicated the driver stopped after the collision, and exited their vehicle to check on the pedestrian. In the process, a second driver failed to slow down and hit both the pedestrian and the first driver involved in the wreck.
Shortly after 12:55 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the crash site, in front of McKinley Elementary School. First responders found two men lying on the ground. Paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the pedestrian, but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died.

Authorities added the first driver sustained moderate injuries from the wreck. Per local news source, an ambulance transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment.
The names of both the fatal victim, and the injured driver remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives continue to investigate several factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident on 4th Street in Bakersfield.
