Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian Near Mercado Latino Wednesday
Bakersfield, CA (November 10, 2021) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred on Edison Highway Wednesday evening, the Bakersfield Now News reported.
Our sources indicated a vehicle struck an individual in the 1999 block of Edison Highway. The collision took place near the Mercado Latino.
Authorities received reports of the incident at approximately 7:30 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found a body lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident on Edison Highway in Bakersfield.
