Bakersfield: Deadly Pedestrian Accident on State Route 65

Vehicle Strikes, Kills Man at SR-65 and Merle Haggard Drive

Bakersfield, CA (April 8, 2023) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred on State Route Highway 65, the California Highway Patrol group reported.

On April 8, Saturday, a vehicle struck na individual near the crossing of SR-65 and Merle Haggard Drive. The make and model of the automobile involved in the horrible crash have not been revealed thus far.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. When medical personnel arrived, they immediately rendered aid to the victim found lying in the traffic lanes. Paramedics performed CPR and other life-saving measures to the pedestrian but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly accident that happened on State Route Highway 65 in Bakersfield.
