3 Injured in Bakersfield Crash at 19th Street and Kern Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 31, 2021) – Several were injured after a DUI crash at 19th Street and Kern Street in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:45 p.m.
Bakersfield police said a person driving under the influence collided with another vehicle. The two crashed at the intersection of East 19th Street and Kern Street.
DUI Driver Hits Another Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the DUI driver and the other motorist ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital, where they listed the victim in critical condition. At least one more individual sustained minor injuries upon impact.
Officials did not release the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, police arrested the driver who caused the wreck on suspicion of DUI.
Officers forced the area of 19th and Kern streets to shut down following the collision. The Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
