Several Children Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Jacks Hill Road
DATE OF COLLISION: Sunday, October 21
October 22, 2018 – Several juveniles were injured in a solo-car crash on Jacks Hill Road Sunday evening, according to Bakersfield.com.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 32-year-old Candelaria De La Rosa veered off the roadway, and ended up crashing into a power pole.
Preliminary investigation revealed there were at least three children, and one adult passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
As per the article, two boys, ages 9 and 11, were ejected during the impact. Paramedics reportedly airlifted both children to Madera Children’s Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Officials added a 7-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital wit moderate injuries. Furthermore, a third victim, a 37-year-old male reportedly suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
DUI Driver Candelaria De La Rosa Arrested After Bakersfield Car Accident
Shortly after the crash, De La Rosa was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the Kern County Jail.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
