BAKERSFIELD, California (May 18, 2015) — One person was killed early Friday morning in a crash on the State Route Highway 223 at S. Edison Road, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A woman was trapped inside a white 1998 Toyota Camry car after it collided with a semi-tractor trailer truck about 5:32 a.m. The eastbound lanes of Highway 223 were blocked due to the crash. Paramedics responded to assist and treat her, but it appears she may have died of her injuries at the scene. The coroner responded to the crash. There were no further details about how the crash happened or descriptions of the vehicles involved.
Police are investigating the crash and will issue a report with their findings.
