1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Union and California Avenues
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 4, 2022) – A car crash killed one person and badly injured another at Union Avenue and California Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to The Bakersfield Californian and 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:53 a.m.
The incident happened on June 3 when a sedan and a pickup truck collided for an unknown reason in the city of Bakersfield. Police said the two cars crashed at the intersection of Union and East California avenues.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found two people hurt. One of them, the man driving the pickup truck, sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital, where he died. The male driver of the sedan ended up hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The names of the deceased wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced the area of Union and East California avenues to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Bakersfield crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 661-327-7111.
