
1 Killed, 3 Injured in Bakersfield Crash at McCutchen and Mountain Ridge
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 12, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured several others at McCutchen Road and Mountain Ridge Drive in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Now and 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 12 at around 4:19 pm
The incident happened when a vehicle was going west on McCutchen Road, approaching Mountain Ridge Drive, in Bakersfield. For an unknown reason, the car failed to stop for a stop sign.
Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
Police said in the process, the vehicle collided with another car in the intersection. The female driver of the westbound vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
The man driving the victim car and a boy with him ended up suffering from moderate injuries upon impact. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
A girl riding with the two male patients died at the scene. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced the area of McCutchen and Mountain Ridge to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
