1 Killed, 1 Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 20, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured another near Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident occurred early Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:50 a.m.
Police said two vehicles collided near the intersection of Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue in Bakersfield. They believed that one of the them was speeding prior to the collision.
Speed Factor in Fiery Car Collision
A car then became fully engulfed in flames upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the adult male driver of the burning vehicle dead at the scene.
Medical personnel took the other motorist, also a man, to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officials forced the area of Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue to close for a time following the crash. The fatal collision is still under investigation,
