1 Killed, 2 Severely Injured in Traffic Collision on Highway 58 Near Broome Road Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (June 7, 2021) – One person died, and two others suffered injuries following a car crash on Highway 58 Sunday night, the KGET News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed an officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Barstow. For reasons still unclear, the driver refused to stop and attempted to run over the officer.
Our sources indicated the suspect fled the Barstow area and made its way through Tehachapi on Highway 202. When the motorist approached Highway 58, the westbound car veered into the eastbound lanes.

According to the article published online, the suspect collided with an innocent driver near Broome Road.
Emergency teams arrived at the crash site and found the two drivers with major injuries. Paramedics reportedly transported the patients to local hospitals for treatment and further evaluation.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the wreck. Authorities said the fatal victim was a 62-year-old passenger in the vehicle struck by the motorist who evaded the police. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
