Driver Killed in Car Accident on 5 Freeway at Fort Tejon Wednesday
Bakersfield, CA (June 2, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car crash on Interstate 5 at Fort Tejon Wednesday evening.
The Bakersfield Now reported a blue Mazda veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. Per article published online, the car continued driving away from traffic and came to a rest near Grapevine Road.
Shortly after 9:40 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. First responders reportedly found two people in the wreckage.
Paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the driver but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the name of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, the 18-year-old female passenger escaped death with only minor injuries. No immediate information was available on the injured teenager.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal car crash on Interstate 5.
