At Least 1 Killed in Rear-End Collision on I-5 Freeway Tuesday
Bakersfield, CA (September 8, 2021) – A fatal car crash occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway on September 7, Tuesday.
The KGET News reported the wreck involved two vehicles. Preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge Ram pickup slammed into the back of a Toyota Tacoma traveling in the slow lane of the highway. Officials said the collision took place in the area near Seventh Standard Road.

Shortly after 7:20 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the accident scene. First responders found the Dodge Ram pickup overturned. Per article published online, the driver of the pickup was ejected during the collision. Paramedics sadly pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
The California Highway Patrol group continue to withhold information on the other parties injured in the incident.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the fatal car crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Bakersfield.
