Woman Dead After Vehicle Plunges Onto Kern River Monday
Bakersfield, CA (May 17, 2021) – One person died following a car crash on Round Mountain Road Monday afternoon, the KGET News reported.
Our sources indicated a black Chevy Tahoe veered off Round Mountain Road at approximately 2 p.m. The vehicle continued driving away from the roadway, and eventually plunged down the Kern River in northeast Bakersfield.
The catastrophic incident took place east of China Grade Loop.

When rescue teams arrived at the crash site, they found the Chevy flipped on its roof and fully submerged. Emergency crews worked extensively, and later successfully recovered the body of a woman. Paramedics pronounced the female party dead at the scene. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Several factors surrounding the horrible car crash on Round Mountain Road have not been revealed thus far. At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly incident.
