BAKERSFIELD, California (February 8, 2016) — A driver in a Honda Civic was killed when he was struck by a semi-tractor trailer truck after an attempt to pass a slower vehicle failed at the intersection of 7th Standard Road and Cherry Avenue, according to Bakersfield Now.
The driver was reportedly trying to pass another vehicle, but saw the truck approaching in the oncoming lane and began to move back into his lane when he was struck by the truck. The Honda Civic went off the roadway and went up in flames.
Police are investigating the fatal crash and will determine liability.
