Bakersfield Fatal Crash at Noriega Road and Verdugo Lane
BAKERSFIELD, California (April 2, 2017) – A fatal traffic collision occurred in the area of Noriega Road and Verdugo Lane on Sunday afternoon, according to The Bakersfield Californian.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported at 12:32 p.m.
As per the article, police said a gray Dodge Ram truck was headed west on Noriega Road when its driver allegedly ran a red light. The pickup then broadsided a white Ford Expedition driven by 55-year-old Timothy Riblett who was going south on Verdugo Lane at the time.
The Ford had a green light when the crash took place.
Police affirmed that Riblett was transported to Kern Medical Center where he later died. His passenger suffered minor injuries upon impact.
Meanwhile, the motorist in the truck was reportedly unharmed. The incident remains under investigation.
