2 Children Killed in Collision Between Highway 65 and Airport Road
Bakersfield, CA (May 11, 2022) – Two people died, and two others suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on James Road, the KGET News reported.
Our sources indicated a white two-door Nissan sedan was traveling west on James Road Tuesday afternoon. According to the article published , the Nissan collided with a bulldozer in the area between Highway 65 and Airport Road. Preliminary investigation revealed the bulldozer was stopped on the side of James. As the Nissan approached the bulldozer, it started driving south across roadway. Officials believed the Nissan driver hit their brakes to avoid collision, but the right side of the car slammed into the bucket of the bulldozer.
Shortly after 3:45 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the right front passenger, and the right rear passenger both unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Authorities only identified the fatal victims as a 10-year-old, and an 11-year-old.

Meanwhile, the driver and another 9-year-old passenger both sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance transported the patients to Kern Medical for further treatment and evaluation.
The driver of the bulldozer, 69-year-old Gary Knox Dozier, appeared unharmed after the incident.
Investigators continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly collision on James Road in Bakersfield.
