1 Killed, Several Hurt in Collision on Morning Drive Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (January 16, 2022) – One person died, and several others suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on Morning Drive.
The Bakersfield Now reported a vehicle was heading south on Morning Drive Sunday evening. According to the article published online, the driver lost control of the car as it approached the 3200 block of Morning Drive.
Officials said the vehicle rolled over several times before coming to a rest off the roadway.
Shortly after 9 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding firefighters found on person pinned in the wreckage. Despite the extrication process, and life-saving measures the male party sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities added three female passengers in the car all sustained injuries and required transfer to the hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the fourth patient reportedly received medical care at the site.
Investigators said the unharmed driver showed signs of intoxication. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the collision on Morning Drive in Bakersfield.
