BAKERSFIELD (March 9, 2017)- According to Bakersfield Now News, a deadly motorcycle crash took place Wednesday evening on Highway 178.
California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene of the crash at 5:30 p.m. at Haley Street.
In an article by Kern Golden Empire, CHP said the motorcyclist was traveling west on Highway 178 when he went down under the Haley overpass.
The rider suffered fatal injuries upon impact. The coroner’s office identified him as 22-year-old Jorge Humberto Bojorquez, of Bakersfield.
Authorities were able to confirm that the unidentified rider was pronounced at the scene.
Two lanes on Highway 178 remained shut down between Haley and Mount Vernon Avenue.
