Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 Near Rosedale Highway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 13, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Highway 99 near Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place late Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 11 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city of Bakersfield. The driver hit the person on northbound Highway 99, just south of Rosedale Highway.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim down in the right lane. The patient sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the individual dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped or stayed at the site following the accident. The cause of the fatal Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound side of Highway 99 to shut down for a time near Rosedale after the incident.
