Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash at Taft Highway and Michele Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 29, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Taft Highway and Michele Street in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the collision shortly before 11 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in southwest Bakersfield. The car hit the person at the intersection of Taft Highway and Michele Street.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the victim lying on the ground. The patient sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the area of Taft Highway and Michele Street to shut down for a time following the collision.
