Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash Near Union and Adams
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 7, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian near South Union Avenue and Adams Street in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the collision on February 7 at around 6:49 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the Southgate neighborhood of Bakersfield.
Victim Hit by Car
The car hit the person near the intersection of South Union Avenue and Adams Street. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver initially left following the incident and then returned to the site. The motorist cooperated with the officers.
Police forced the area of Union and Adams to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the fatal Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
