Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash at District Boulevard and Ashe Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 20, 2022) – A car crash killed a pedestrian at District Boulevard and Ashe Road in Bakersfield.

According to The Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 9:38 a.m.
The incident happened on October 19 when a vehicle ran a red light on northbound Ashe Road at the intersection with District Boulevard. The driver then broadsided another car.
Bakersfield police said the motorist who ran a red light lost control and struck a pedestrian at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Victim
The pedestrian sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the patient dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the at-fault person survived the incident with moderate injuries.
Medical personnel then rushed the driver to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police forced the area of District and Ashe to shut down for a time following the wreck.
