1 Killed in Bakersfield Truck Accident on Highway 99 Sunday
BAKERSFIELD (July 15, 2018) – Two were injured after an alleged wrong-way crash on Highway 99 early Sunday morning, according to 23 ABC News.
The accident occurred at around 4:44 a.m. near 7th Standard Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a Honda CR-V was traveling south on Highway 99 when for an unknown reason it went into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a box truck.

Paramedics responded and attended to the male driver of the box truck and his passenger who were hurt upon impact. Both were taken to Kern Medical with injuries ranging from minor to moderate degree.
Meanwhile, CHP confirmed that the wrong-way motorist died at the scene. She has been identified as Gabriella Virginia Leenerts, 23, of Bakersfield.
The names and condition of the wounded victims were not released. The incident remains under investigation.
