At Least 1 Hurt After Car Accident in Bakersfield Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (February 18, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred on Burchfield Avenue early Sunday.
According to the dispatch, a black Chevrolet Camry crashed into another vehicle in the 501 block of Burchfield Avenue. The force from the impact caused the Chevrolet to careen off the traffic lanes, and hit a parked white Nissan van.
The accident took place at about 1:15 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found at least one person trapped in the wreckage. Responding firefighters pulled out the victim, then evaluated their condition. The CHP log confirmed the unidentified party sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

Meanwhile, officers said a person involved in the crash fled the scene on foot. At the moment, authorities continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly how and why the car crash on Burchfield Avenue happened.
