1 Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash at Belle Terrace and Real Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 28, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured one person near Belle Terrace and Real Road in Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:42 p.m.

CHP said a brown Nissan Altima and at least one other vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. They crashed near the intersection of Belle Terrace and South Real Road.

One of the cars involved obtained major damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived to the scene near Highway 99.

Medical personnel found one victim left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of a dislocated shoulder.

Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan abandoned his car and jumped in a white Buick sedan.

CHP affirmed that the Buick continued and soon fled southbound on Real Road. They described the suspect as a black male in his 20s.

Officers later forced the area of Belle Terrace and Real Road to shut down following the wreck. The Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
