1 Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash Near Mohawk Street and Highway 58
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 12, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash near Mohawk Street and Highway 58 in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:08 p.m.
The incident began when a vehicle spun out of control for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. According to CHP, its driver drifted into the oncoming lanes and struck another car.
The two crashed near the intersection of Mohawk Street and Highway 58.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found an elderly man who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the minor injuries he sustained in the incident. Officials did not disclose his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist who caused the wreck did not stop to help and fled the area. The Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the intersection of Mohawk Street and Highway 58 to shut down following the collision.
