1 Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run at Mt Vernon Avenue and Edison Highway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 24, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person at Mt Vernon Avenue and Edison Highway in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred early Saturday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 2 a.m.
A white work pickup truck made a U turn in front of a red Honda sedan. In the process, the two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Mt Vernon Avenue and Edison Highway in Bakersfield.
Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They then found one occupant of the Honda who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon provided treatment to the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained from the impact. The name of the patient and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the truck did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers briefly blocked the intersection following the Bakersfield hit-and-run crash.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
