2 Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash Near Panama and Cottonwood
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 5, 2021) – Two were injured after a hit-and-run crash near Panama Lane and Cottonwood Road in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Monday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 12:06 p.m.
The accident happened on October 4 when a gray Chrysler PT Cruiser and another vehicle collided in Bakersfield. The two crashed on East Panama Lane, just east of the intersection with Cottonwood Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP said the Chrysler then rolled over upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the overturned car.
A total of two people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon provided aid to both patients for the head injuries they sustained in the incident.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded victims and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the other vehicle did not stop to help and fled the area.
Officers forced a stretch of Panama Lane to shut down near Cottonwood Road following the wreck. The cause of the Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
