Bakersfield Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident on California Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 19, 2026) — A woman was critically injured early Friday morning following a hit-and-run crash on California Avenue in central Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department the collision occurred just before 1 a.m. on June 19, 2026 in the 3600 block of California Avenue, near Real Road.
A driver reportedly struck the woman and fled the scene.
Emergency crews and police responded and located the woman in the roadway with life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics transported her by ambulance to a hospital where she remains in “unstable” condition.
Finally, detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
