
Driver Sought in Hit-and-run Crash; Woman Hospitalized
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2024) — A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Wible Road Sunday night in Bakersfield.
Police reported the crash occurred at around 6:32 p.m. on Feb. 25th in southwest Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in a vehicle reportedly struck the woman in the southbound lanes in the 8500 block of Wible Road due to unknown circumstances, Bakersfield Now reports.
Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to a hospital to be treated for major injuries.
Meanwhile, the unidentified driver reportedly failed to stop and help the woman, nor did the suspect speak with authorities.
The case remains under investigation.
