
Rider Badly Hurt in DUI Collision at Panama Lane and Ashe Road
Bakersfield, CA (April 2, 2023) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a suspected DUI crash that occurred in the area of Panama Lane and Ashe Road, the KGET News reported.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Crash in Bakersfield
Officials said a man driving a pickup truck hit a man riding a motorcycle near the intersection in southwest Bakersfield. Preliminary investigation revealed the pickup driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the motorcyclist. After the collision, the pickup continued moving and came to a rest after slamming against a fire hydrant and building.
The crash took place early Sunday, April 2.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the rider found suffering in major injuries. An ambulance subsequently rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Pending confirmation, the name of the patient remained undisclosed.
Preliminary investigation revealed speed and alcohol contributed to the incident. At this time, detectives continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the traffic accident that happened at Panama Lane and Ashe Road in Bakersfield.
