Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Potomac and Richmond
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 3, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash at Potomac Avenue and Richmond Street in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:12 p.m.
According to CHP, a white sedan and the motorcycle rider collided for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The two crashed at the intersection of Potomac Avenue and Richmond Street.
Motorcycle Rider and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Mt Vernon Elementary School. They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to the Kern Medical for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision. Officers forced the area of Potomac and Richmond to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
