The crash took place about 8:23 p.m. this evening at Snow Road and Quail Creek Road. The rider was down in the roadway and arriving paramedics administered CPR at the scene before transporting the injured motorcyclist to Kern Medical Center.
The report stated the rider suffered major injuries, but later the report was updated to a fatality.
A full investigation by police is underway to determine liability.
When a collision involves a motorcyclist, police will interview all other parties involved and try to piece together what happened based on their side of the story, witness accounts and evidence collected at the scene. It’s important to have an independent investigator conduct a secondary investigation into what happened. While criminal charges could be filed if there were drugs and or alcohol involved, a victim or their family must separately make a claim for a civil lawsuit. This would compensate them for financial losses such as medical bills and loss of income.
