BAKERSFIELD, California (May 1, 2015) — One person was killed and another seriously injured after a car and school bus collided Friday afternoon at the intersection of East Truxtun Avenue and Gage Street, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 2:36 p.m., CHP officers say the driver of a small black Acura passenger car collided with a 2015 yellow Bakersfield City School District bus No. 265 carrying roughly 10 people including students. None of the students were seriously injured in the crash.
Paramedics responded to assist the two occupants in the Acura, but one died and the other was transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The school bus and the car were taken as evidence. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will issue a report with their findings.
