Girl Hit in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident at Parking Lot on Beardsley Avenue

4-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in Crash at Apartment Complex

Bakersfield, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2024) — A driver backing up in a parking lot at an apartment complex on Beardsley Avenue in Bakersfield struck a four-year-old pedestrian.

The little girl sustained severe injuries in the collision at 115 Beardsley Avenue around 3:25 p.m. on Saturday afternoon January 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 43-year-old woman driving a 2007 Toyota told authorities she did not see the child behind her and as she was backing up she struck the child, Bakersfield Now reports.

Police reported the child was walking in an easterly direction and the car was moving in a north direction at the time of the crash.

The little girl suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Meanwhile, authorities investigating the crash do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the Bakersfield pedestrian accident on Beardsley Avenue.
